Why am I being asked to verify my identity when I apply for a Moves Spending Account?

During the application process, we may request additional documents from you to confirm your identity and protect you from fraud. You will be able to upload your documents directly to the Moves app, using  your smartphone camera. You may be asked to provide one or more of the following:

  •  Personal ID Document: this can be your driver's license or state ID. You will need to upload the front and back of your ID in order to proceed
  • Social Security Card: this will be used to verify your SSN
  • Address Verification: a document to verify your address such as bank statement, utility bill, lease agreement, or current pay stub. Please note: PO Boxes will not be accepted

Your documents will be sent directly to our banking partner and are never stored or accessed by Moves employees. Moves uses bank-level encryption to keep your information secure.
